The "L" Word

Yes, there is some loneliness here. There's also loneliness at home.

I suppose even the same amount of loneliness at home seems worse because home is where all my great friends and relatives are accessible but almost constantly busy with commitments, buckaroos, chores, and a list of things that seemed normal to me before Honduras but now seem like distractions that get in the way of really having a life.

If the feeling of loneliness is necessary, I think a person is better off experiencing it while living in a part of the world that feels healthier and happier overall. A society that's more "open" in terms of community and environment, with people almost always outdoors and visible. A place with mostly sunny weather and walking distance access to up-close exposure to nature's beauty.
